Varia Williams
Creative Arts PSYCHOTherapist / Drama & movement therapy
Varia holds an MA in Drama & Movement Therapy from the University of London, through the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She is a trained Dramatherapist with years of experience working in the arts and in the area of children and youth development. Specialising in the Sesame approach to Drama and Movement Therapy, Varia works with children, youth and adults, individually or through group-work. She has a wealth of experience in teaching practice, workshop facilitation, youth development and working with confronting themes such as conflict resolution, anxiety, depression, race, sexuality, identity, grief, interpersonal relationships and other psycho-social subjects.
Artist, Dramatist, Theatre Arts Educator, Practitioner and Expressive Arts Consultant, Varia uses her multi-disciplinary craft to address social, emotional, behavioural and mental health concerns.
Varia is an ‘artivist’ who promotes the therapeutic value of the arts to support wellness, healing and balance.
Over the years her principal objective has been to develop a non-traditional, participatory, creative experience that facilitates the development of important life skills including compassionate thinking, conflict resolution, confidence building, identity work, and effective communication through the use of a trauma-informed approach to drama, movement and play techniques.
Nicollette Williams
CREATIVE ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPIST / Youth & Adolescent Addiction Mental Health Therapist
Nicollette is a Barbadian Creative Arts Psychotherapist, a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, Creative Director, Addiction Counsellor, Motivational Speaker and more. Nicollette has worked in psychotherapy for the past 6 years, working with numerous populations. Her empowering platform has been done nationally, regionally and internationally.
As a trained theatre practitioner, with a background in dance, and her additional training in arts psychotherapy and her passion for mental health and wellness advocacy, Nicollette incorporates the disciplines into this unique form to aid in the emotional, physical, mental, social and physical development of her clients.
She works with those who have been through mental health illnesses, substance abuse challenges, behavioral issues and emotional distresses using the creative modalities to improve and heal from their challenges. Finding tools for them to cope daily, her unique therapeutic style allows persons to express themselves in a more comfortable way as they find a new way of life in their healing journey holistically. Her methods of healing in therapy are; interactive, therapeutic, healing and authentic.
inayah sherry
Inayah Sherry is an interdisciplinary artist, art therapist, and counsellor in Barbados.
Her personal experience with the transformative power of art has guided her to the field of Creative Arts Therapy. Inayah recognized that she could support others in their healing journeys through the use of the psychosocial benefits of art. Her passion encouraged her to complete her Bachelor’s in Studio Arts with a concentration in Psychology, followed by a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counselling.
Inayah has 5 years of experience working in the field of Art Therapy and Counselling and has worked in Barbados, Nepal, and the United States with an array of varying demographics. She has utilized art therapy and counselling techniques working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, persons experiencing homelessness, addiction, children with social-emotional challenges, neuro-divergent and disabled individuals, cancer survivors, LGBTQIA + teens and adults, and immigrants. In her work with clients, Inayah utilizes a number of approaches including person-centered, trauma- informed, and solution-focused frameworks.
